The Oil Patch

I've only lived in Alberta for few months now, but I'm getting the impression that all the politicians are concerned with is what goes on in the oil patch. It seems to focus their attention away from other issues at hand.

Do you want to be an Albertan? I only ask because for those of us that were born here and whose families owe their livelyhood to the patch, this IS the issue that funds all the other issues at hand. I don't know your political leanings or social outlook regarding Canada, maybe you are a transplanted Torontonian with Eastern centric views on what Canada should be, I don't care, but you should. All I can say is keep up the good work and continue driving that biased wedge on what you think Alberta is. I get the point you are trying to make with this piece of work. And in many ways it plays right into what we think the rest of Canada thinks of US. We almost cut the family ties, if you will, with Canada the last time the east tried to punish and control us. It was called the NEP, look it up, for those of us that lived through it it will never be forgiven or forgotten. Separation is not just a tool that Quebec can use...always remember 50%+1 works both ways.
