While on vacation in Ottawa in September. I went to the National Gallery and walked around the downtown. I drew this while sitting in a park until the light disappeared.

Rock Poster for a Rock Poster Show
i am robot and proud
I am participating or participated, depending on when you read this entry, in a show that will be on display this November 15th, Post No Bills - A Celebration of the Rock Poster. I haven't done very many rock show posters so I just decided to pick what I was listening to at the time which was i am robot and proud. I am truly sorry if you're in a rock band and don't like this poster.

Feathertale Magazine Cover
You might have noticed that our fine furried friend and publisher of the Feathertale Review, D'Artagnan is enjoying his pipe and favourite newspaper whilst waiting for the next subway... Enjoying that is of course until the next train came careening into the station causing havoc and mayhem the likes to which no simian has ever born witness. Only you can help set things straight by finding D'Artagnan and his newspaper, pipe, pocket watch, hat, and glasses. Otherwise he will never learn the scores from yesterday's hockey matches. Lo!

Calgary Folk Fest
Sam Roberts at the Calgary Folk Fest 2008
I got there late and missed the Weakerthans set. I had to sit so far back that if I tried to draw the stage Sam would have been a tiny speck. So instead I drew the TV screen and some girls.
Gomez at the Calgary Folk Fest 2009
This was my first time listening to Gomez. I haven't been able to form an opinion of them, but they're British and they won a mercury prize, so the must be good. So at the risk of sounding like an idiot I will just agree with you.

This was a nice intimate set on one of the side stages. I think I was the only person who wasn't passionately transfixed on Andrew Whiteman.

Stephen Harper is a nerd
I heard an internet rumour that Stephen Harper was a huge Star Trek TOS fan. Going so far as to have cosplayed at a convention back before his public life. I figured since it is an internet rumour then it must be true. I mean it makes sense, he obviously models his public persona after Spock and the Vulcans. Helmet hair... check... cold robotic-like demeanour... check...
Anyway, cheers to the Romulan Conservative majority we will no doubt be living through for the next four years.
